Cradle-to-Career Education

What is Cradle-to-Career Education?

At Highlander, we believe in the power of education to transform lives and strengthen communities. Our cradle-to-career education approach is a holistic framework that supports individuals from early childhood through adulthood, ensuring that every neighbor has equitable access to a lifetime of high-quality learning.

Cradle-to-career education transcends traditional classroom boundaries; it embodies a commitment to centering our neighbors’ experiences in our understanding of our community’s evolving educational needs. Our approach to education prioritizes empowering every neighbor to contribute to a legacy of learning, empowerment, and educational excellence within the Highlander neighborhood of North Omaha.

Howard Kennedy Elementary

In 2015, Seventy Five North secured a 10-year Community Partnership Agreement with Omaha Public Schools (OPS) designed to strengthen Howard Kennedy Elementary School, Highlander’s neighborhood school. This partnership is intended to transform Howard Kennedy Elementary into a high-performing school that will exist as part of an integrated, holistic neighborhood redevelopment effort at Highlander.

Omaha Early Learning Center at Kennedy

The success of Howard Kennedy fueled the momentum behind our education strategy, empowering the organization to address Highlander’s limited access to quality early learning options. In collaboration with Educare, the Omaha Early Learning Center opened its doors adjacent to Kennedy Elementary in January 2020, housing 16 classrooms for students from birth to Pre-K.
